This is me Patrick.. and this is my confession: I have this pursuit for a lifetime, a desire to:

(1) Create a big impact: an impact that that serves a large body of audience

(2) Forming a legacy: Do something that is reusable, inheritable in numerous of ways

(3) Community: Helping other people to reach their fullest potential is my priority

To achieve that, although starting out with a background in AI Research & Engineering, I shifted my career to Full-stack Product Development. That means I have to wear the PM’s hat, the Frontend’s, and Backend’s hat at the same time.

In short, I specialize at generalizing, and I do that intentionally. While keeping each expertise at a decent level, I have the bird-eye views of what the software development landscape really looks like.

🤪 A lot of folks told me that I have a focus issue - the ability focus on single thing instead of doing numerous of things like what I did, well.. I lazer-focus one thing at a time, but all in all, I try to be a generalist.

If I’m not good at something, then well delegate it to some other experts. Because at the end of the day, we only really care about if problem is solved and not the process behind it.

In society that encourages the value of extraversion and competition, I started to feel peer pressure and FOMO got building up. Lots of people lose their identities and meaning in chasing the game of life.
